FIBS was written by
Andreas Schnider, and can be run from windows xp telnet
by entering "o fibs.com 4321". Fibs allows you to play real time online
backgammon both against other players and against bots. Before
starting to play through the FIBS online backgammon server, you
will need a password and a username. You can register at this page:
http://www.fibs.com/~cthulhu/register.html
Once you type o
fibs.com 4321 you will see big ASCII painting reading FIBS.
Here is the list of the FIBS online backgammon server commands:
FIBS online
backgammon server commands: miscellaneous.
About - displays general information about FIBS online backgammon
server.
Motd - Every day a message will be included with some news and / or
recent changes to the FIBS online backgammon server. You will be
allowed to view them by typing Motd.
Average - This command will show the average number of users connected
at that specific hour since the FIBS online backgammon server
was last restarted.
Dicetest - The dicetest command shows the results of several tests that
are performed on the overall rolls of all players following a restart
of FIBS online backgammon server.
Version - This command allows you to know which version of FIBS online
backgammon server you are using.
FIBS online

Time - It isn't really isn't
that hard to guess, is it? :-)
Date - equivalent to the time command.
Last - This command will allow you to see the last login and logout that
was performed on the FIBS online backgammon server. (Type Last
Somename if you want to find out the last time that Somename was logged
in)
Show Games - This command allow you to see all the matches currently
being played on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Show Saved - This command allows you to see a list of your unfinished
matches played on the FIBS online backgammon server and their
scores.
Show Watchers - This command allows you to see a list of all the players
who are just watching the games taking place on the FIBS online
backgammon server.
Show max - This commands allows you to see the maximum number of
simultaneous Users allowed on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Who away - This commands allows you to see the list of all players who
are currently away from the FIBS online backgammon server.
Who playing - This commands allows you to see the list of all players
who are currently playing on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Who ready - This command allows you to see list of all players who are
ready on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Where Somename - This commands allows you to see the full length of the
Somename's host. (available only if Somename is connected to the FIBS
backgammon online server)
Whois Somename - This commands allows you to see information about FIBS
online backgammon server users.
This command allows the following info to be desplayed: Users last login
date and time, last logout, whether user is logged right now,
user's status (ready / playing / away / watching etc' ), user's idle
time, rating and experience.
Rating X Y - X and Y represents numbers. This command allows you to see
the users rated from X to Y on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Rating Somename - This command allows you to see the rating of Someone
on the FIBS online backgammon server.
Crawford - This command explains The Crawford rule to you.
Formula - This command allow you to see the formulas used to calculate
the rating changes on the FIBS online backgammon server.

FIBS online
backgammon server commands: Chatting.
Blind Somename - This command makes it impossible for specific FIBS
online backgammon server users (Somename in our case) to watch
your games. (To cancel this command you should type 'Blind someone'
again)
Wait Somename - With this command you request a message to be sent to
you when specific FIBS online backgammon server users ( Somename
in our case) are connected. (Be aware that Somename will recieve a
message saying that you are waiting for him to connect)
Gag someone - You will not see the messages sent to FIBS online
backgammon server by Someone, through the tell, shout,
kibitz or whisper commands.
Shout somemessage - This command allows you to send message to all FIBS
online backgammon server users who don't have the silent feature
on.
K message - This command allows you to send a message to all FIBS online
backgammon server users who are playing with you or watching your
game.
Tell Someone Somemessage - This command allows you to send a message (Somemessage
in thiscase) to a FIBS online backgammon server user (Someone in this
case).
Say somemessage - This command allows you to send a message to your
opponent.
Whisper somemessage - This command allows you to send a message to all
FIBS online backgammon server users who are watching but NOT playing
at the specific game you are in.
FIBS online
backgammon server commands: Commands inside a game.
Leave - This command allows you to quit the current online
backgammon game you're playing.
Resign n - With this command your opponent at the online backgammon
game will be asked to accept or reject your resign if you lose the
number of points on the cube.
Resign g - With this command your opponent at the online backgammon
game will be asked to accept or reject your resign if you lose twice the
number of points on the cube.
Resign b - With this command your opponent at the online backgammon
game will be asked to accept or reject your resign if you lose three
times the number of points on the cube.
Reject - This command allows the rejection of the double proposal of
your opponent at the online backgammon game.
Accept - This command allows the acceptance of the double proposal of
your opponent at the online backgammon game.
Double - This command allows you to propose to your opponent at the
online backgammon game to double the game.
Move 3 4 - This command moves your disc from 3 to 4.
b - This command allows you to see the board at the online backgammon
match you are currently playing or watching.
FIBS online
backgammon server commands: Outside the game commands.
Invite Someone X - This command allows you to invite someone to an
online backgammon game until X points are accumulated.
Invite Someone - This command allows you to resume an online
backgammon game you stopped playing with Someone.
Invite Someone Unlimited - This command allows you to invite someone to
an online backgammon game up to an unlimited number of points.
Join Someone - This command allows you to accept someone's invitation to
an online backgammon game.
Watch Someone - This command allows you to watch someone's online
backgammon game.
Unwatch -This command allows you to stop watching the online
backgammon game you are currently watching.
Look someone - This command allows you to take a quick look at someones'
online backgammon game.
Wave - If you type it twice, this command makes you quit the FIBS online
backgammon server.
Quit – the same as wave, but you need to type it only once.
Away - Use this program to inform the FIBS online backgammon
server users that you are currently away from the game .
Back - If your
status showed that you were away from FIBS online backgammon
server, then this command turns your status back to normal.
FIBS online
backgammon server commands: The toggle settings.
Toggle silent YES -
This command
informs the online backgammon server to not to show you 'shouts'
of other players.
Toggle silent NO -
This command
makes the online backgammon server show you 'shouts' of other
players.
Toggle ready YES -
This command
makes the online backgammon server mark you as a user ready for
game.
Toggle autoboard YES -
This command
activated the feature that redraws the board at the online backgammon
game after every move.
Toggle autoboard NO -
This command
forces you to type 'b' to see the online backgammon board.
Toggle autodouble YES -
This command
doubles as the
first roll doubles the cube.
Toggle autodouble NO -
This command
doubles as the
first roll won't double the cube.
Toggle greedy YES -
This command
makes the
online backgammon server attempt to bear off one piece per rolled
number automatically.
Toggle greedy NO - If you are
reading this guide you are probably a beginner at online backgammon
games, so it's not recommended for you to change this option.
Toggle moreboards YES -
This command
makes the online backgammon server redraw the board after each
move and roll.
Toggle moreboards NO -
This command
makes the online backgammon server redraw the board after each
move only.
Toggle moves YES -
This command
makes the online backgammon server show you the list of moves
after each game.
Toggle moves NO - You will not
see the list of moves.
Toggle notify YES -
This command
makes the online backgammon server notify you when someone is
logged in or out.
Toggle notify NO - The online
backgammon server won't notify you when someone is logged in or
logged out.
Toggle report YES -
This command
will make the online backgammon server notify you when a match is
started or finished.
Toggle report NO - You won't be
notified when a match is started or finished.
Toggle double YES -
This command
makes the online backgammon server ask you if you want to double.
Toggle double NO -
The online backgammon
